The RCM Piano Masterclass on January 28th will be led by the renowned pianist and teacher Dmitry Alexeev. He won first prize at the 1975 Leeds International Piano Competition and in 1994 recorded Medtner’s Piano Quintet and Concerto No. 1 on the Hyperion label.
The masterclass programme is as follows:
Chisato Kusunoki: Sonata romantica, Op. 53 No. 1 (two movements); Alexey Demchenko and Tamara Bakoch: Spanish Romance, Op. 36 No. 4, Elegy, Op. 45 No. 1; Djumash Durusaliev and Lucy Colquhoun: Nachtgesänge, Op. 16 No. 1; Emily Hooker: Sonata-Skazka, Op. 25 No. 1.
